Some materials handling applications require attachments to be fitted to forklifts to perform the operation safely and effectively. There are a large variety of forklift attachments to suit many applications, from lifting drums to paper roll clamps, to container handling. Some of the most common forklift attachments include:
- Sideshift: Allows the operator to move the load left and right without moving the forklift.
- Fork Positioners: Moves the forklift tynes independently of each other enabling narrow or wide loads to be shifted without the operator having to get off the forklift.
- Rotators: Enables the forklift tynes to rotate up to 360 degrees to invert and dump loads.
- Clamps: Various types of clamps can be fitted to the forklift in place of the forklift tynes. Generally loads that cannot be safely or effectively lifted on a pallet will require a forklift clamp.
